About: A national workshop on Child Rights organized by NCPCR as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Theme: “Child Rights with emphasis on preventive aspects of child protection issues”.
Activities: The Ministry hosted various activities & events from 14-21 Nov with an objective to utilize the week for generation of awareness about child right in community at large.
NCPCR: National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) was setup in March 2007 under the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act, 2005.
Ministry: NCPCR is a statutory body under the administrative control of the Ministry of Women & Child Development.
AIM: To ensure that all Laws & Policies are in consonance with child rights perspective as enshrined in the Constitution of India and also the UN Convention on the Right of the Child.
Child:The child is defined as a person in the 0 to 18 years age group.
